Miss Ellie Larsen is teaching Elementary Choir and studying Vocal Music Education at MSUM.

Why do you teach? I teach because I have a passion for music and a heart for students, and I want to use both to point people to Jesus. I want my classroom to be a place where students can discover their gifts while learning that those gifts are ultimately meant to glorify God. My hope is that through teaching, I can reflect Christ’s love, encourage my students, and help them see that following Jesus impacts every part of their lives.

What do you like about working with this age group? I like this age group because it is so rewarding to watch students' confidence and curiosity grow as they learn something new. I also love their joy and excitement, they bring so much fun and energy into the classroom!

What is your Deep Hope for your students? My deep hope is that my students would know they are created uniquely by God, recognize the gifts he has given them, and learn to use those gifts to glorify him and serve others. I want them to leave my classroom not only as better musicians, but as confident, kind, joyful people who know that their identity and worth are found in Christ.

The best part about following Jesus is... that I get to have a relationship with him, witness his faithfulness, and have the hope of eternity with him. I love knowing that my life has a greater purpose because I get to live for something and someone far greater than myself.
